Shoppers looking for a three-row midsize crossover that's perfect for families will want to take a good look at the 2022 GMC Acadia. The 2022 GMC Acadia slots above the smaller GMC Terrain and below the larger GMC Yukon. With seating for six, the Acadia remains a popular model at dealerships like the Rexburg GMC dealer. Buyers love the Acadia's attractive exterior styling, spacious cabin, exceptional handling, and generous standard feature list. The infotainment system is user-friendly, and there's plenty of cargo space for carting around anything you need to carry along for the ride.
According to the Rexburg GMC dealership, the Acadia is offered in four trim levels, listed as SLE, SLT, AT4 and Denali. Powering the SLE and SLT is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generating 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The AT4 and Denali employ a 3.6-liter V6 producing 310 hp and 271 lb-ft. The V6 is available in the SLT. Both engines are linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission. All models except the AT4 get standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive except the AT4, which gets all-wheel drive standard.
The 2022 GMC Acadia gets an EPA-estimated rating of up to 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway.*
Edmunds gives the 2022 GMC Acadia high marks, writing:
"We like the Acadia for its comfortable ride, powerful V6 upgrade engine and easy-to-use technology features. ... If you plan on towing, you'll want to get the Denali trim with its standard V6 engine and optional trailering package."
The 2022 Acadia's luxurious cabin features modern styling and plenty of high-quality soft-touch surfaces. An active noise cancellation system effectively isolates road and wind noise from the cabin. The Acadia's Smart Slide system allows passengers in the third row to quickly get in and out of the SUV. There's lots of cargo space. The Acadia offers 12.8 cubic feet behind the third row. With the seats folded, there's a total of 79 cubic feet.

Even the Acadia's base SLE trim gets a long list of standard features, including 18-inch wheels, keyless ignition and entry, three-zone automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo system, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth and five USB ports.
The standard GMC Pro Safety Plus package features automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, front pedestrian braking, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, forward-collision alert, a following-distance indicator, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change alert and parking sensors.
GM engineers its SUVs to be very safe. The 2022 GMC Acadia received the highest overall safety rating of five stars by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety hasn't rated the 2022 Acadia as of this writing. However, the previous model received the agency's best rating of Good in all crash tests. We believe the score for this year should be identical to last year.
