The 2022 GMC Yukon XL is available in four trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4 and Denali. All models except the Denali are powered by a 5.3-liter V8 engine that puts out 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The Yukon XL Denali is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 that generates 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder engine is available in all models except the AT4. It produces an impressive 277 hp and 460 lb-ft. All engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all trims except the AT4, which gets standard four-wheel drive. The other trims get four-wheel drive.
The 2022 GMC Yukon XL has an incredible amount of cargo space, with 145 cubic feet with all the seats folded. Towing capacity maxes out at 8,300 pounds. EPAs-estimated fuel economy is rated at up to 21 mpg city/27 mpg highway for the turbo-diesel with rear-wheel drive.*
Off-roaders will love the Yukon XL AT4 trim, which comes with 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, a two-speed transfer case, underbody skid plates, hill descent control, and an available air suspension that can provide two additional inches of ground clearance. Available features include a rear-seat entertainment system and a power-sliding center console.
